The season was a condensed version of all three books with a few deviations, most notably the ending.

Thanks, was deciding whether or not I wanted to read the books. Sounds like there is enough of a difference to make it worthwhile.

You NEVER talk about the past in Wayward Pines!

  4. Well we don't know what happened between the time that the kid was unconscious and woke up.

I think she kept her feelings for him secret. We don't know how much the other kids knew about them. If she had revealed her feelings, they might have kept him frozen.

  5. They could have had the parts and fabricated others as needed. Remember, this is the second group so they've had time.

The other point--sometimes you just have to buy Into the idea and let some things go. Suspension of disbelief makes enjoying something designed for entertainment work.

Should have known!! I had hopes! But no!
From episode 8 on.... it turned to s**t (if you read the trilogy).

Read the trilogy and any associated side stories. Good reads!

But..... If you didn't read the trilogy, it might be fun! My wife enjoyed it. :)

I didn't care the ending. After 10 hours of story, nothing changed. New regime simply caries on with the same basic town that we started with. Pointless!

Further, the youth were the enlightened ones. They knew the truth. No need for secrecy with them. So why carry on with the Group B rules, which were set solely to hide the truth? Lot's of sloppy writing throughout this thing. I extended latitude because it was a pretty good watch at times. Now that it's over, I don't think the payoff was there.

A really good story, Wayward Pines! The books are page turners. I like Blake Crouch's writing. After the trilogy, I read quite a few of his other books.
The spinoffs from Wayward Pines by other authors are fun, too!

  9. I suspect that they kept the rules not because of the secret but as a means to control anyone that didn't comply. It worked for me and would have been an interesting set up for season two.

i thought about this a lot, and i can understand it, the first generation did exactly what they were "programmed" to do.

Yep, but it makes me want to see the rest of the story. Hopefully they will get another actor to play Ethan's kid, if they do more of the story. I found him to be annoying.

I did too but he did not write the screenplay or direct it. He credit is "story by...". I'm not sure what that means exactly.

Who knows?.... I could've meant, 'In an attempt to avoid the 'stank' of my name on my past movies, THIS is made by 'others', not me!'

I liked it also. It probably means he came up with the concept (people trapped in an elevator with the devil), but someone else wrote it, as in wrote the dialog, the sequence of events, etc. Just a guess.

    It's pretty common, actually.

What would you rather have had? All of the adults lived happily ever after once Pilcher was gone?

Huh? Who was that hanging from the tree at the very end?

The book ending makes more sense, IMO.

It doesn't matter who it was, does it? Actually, there were 3 bodies hanging with the same signs around their neck.

It's not up to me to come up with an ending I like. If you guys liked it, fine. I didn't.
