The Screaming Lord Sutch solo albums, including:

    Jimmy Page
    John Bonham
    Jeff Beck
    Noel Redding
    Nicky Hopkins
    Ritchie Blackmore
    Matthew Fisher
    Keith Moon

    ...and more.

According to Wikipedia: Sutch's album Lord Sutch and Heavy Friends was named in a 1998 BBC poll as the worst album of all time, a status it also held in Colin Larkin's book The Top 1000 Albums of All Time

I think his albums are at least amusing, in a campy kind of way :agree:

Elvin Jones -- one of the most famous jazz drummers of all time, best known for his association with John Coltrane -- played on one track on a 1999 album by a third-rate Canadian post-grunge/emo band called Our Lady Peace. The song's pretty bad, but in the second half he's clearly playing a characteristic "My Favorite Things"-style waltz figure.

  16. Miles Davis guested on several pop releases in the 80's, on albums by...

Scritti Politti, Cameo, Chaka Khan, Toto, to name most of them (but maybe not all). Also, Quincy Jones (on what is essentially a pop album).

Not that it's super obscure, but I often talk to people who have no idea that Eddie Van Halen plays on a track from Nicolette Larson's debut album from 1978. She sang "Lotta Love."
