I guess this is directed at prog fans, but not necessarily so. Steven Wilson seems to take on albums he really likes. Gentle Giant just announced he is remixing of "The Power and The Glory" due out this summer.

What album would you really, really, really like to see remixed by SW? It doesn't have to be a prog rock classic, but remember it should be something within his tastes.

    I'll start with an obvious one;

Tales From Topographic Oceans by Yes.

Tool's Aenima. It would sound amazing in surround sound plus the original is kind of sludgy. Although the sludgy sound adds to it. I think if anyone could make Metallica's ...And Justice For All listenable it would be Wilson but I don't know if he is even a fan.

After getting the first seven King Crimson remix/5.1 sets I think Wilson should have to remix all of my favorite albums.

Thus far, Wilson has tackled most of prog's heavy weights: King Crimson, Yes, ELP, Jethro Tull, Caravan, now GG. There's just one major omission here and that's Genesis, but I'm not overly optimistic about the prospects of a complete 5.1 overhaul there. Van Der Graaf Generator would be nice (maybe H to He or Pawn Hearts) or maybe Gong (Angel's Egg and You would sound stellar in 5.1) or even Pink Floyd (howabout Meddle?). Naturally, I also want to see him keep going with his work on Yes, Tull, GG (In A Glass House would be great), and Xtc.

I've already mention this several times in the past.

The Orb - U.F.Orb (Definitely with the 40 minute long version of Blue Room...Jah Wobble and Steve Hillage)
The Orb - Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld

Anything circa 1977-1982 (especially Moving Pictures) by Rush. Not necessarily in 5.1 either. Stereo would just fine thank you very much.

I would take this a step further and get him to produce their next studio album too (if there would be such a thing).

    Cheers,

    VP

I'm not sure if he's a Bowie fan, but I'd be curious to hear what Wilson could do with the "Berlin" trilogy (Low, "Heroes", Lodger).

I know he's done a couple of Tull albums already, but that's my favorite. Love to have him bring out the bass in that album.

I'm thinking the chances for this one are pretty good. A Passion Play is coming soon and apparently War Child will be next.

I would like to see a couple of the Yes members solo albums. In particular Squire's Fish Out Of Water and The Steve Howe Album. Olias Of Sunhillow would be good in 5.1.

I won't list any Yes or XTC as hopefully those are likely to happen.

New 5.1 mixes (and 2 channel mixes, although some of these have good stereo mixes already) for the following would be smashing...

A Wizard, A True Star by Todd Rundgren.
For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night by Caravan
    Diamond Dogs by David Bowie
Out of The Blue by ELO
    Misplaced Childhood by Marillion
Sign of The Times by Prince
    The Tubes by The Tubes

    and many, many more.

I wonder if there is any chance in Hell of this one ever being remixed into something at least a bit easier on the ears? What a great album it could be for Steven W. to polish up and expand.
