It has been a common trend now for several years for rock and pop performers to present complete performances of one of their albums, almost in the tradition of classical symphonies. What albums have you seen performed in their entirety? I am going to impose a couple of rules - the performance included at least one of the original band and that the album was played as one piece (rather than because they happened to play every song on the album during the course of the gig). And what other albums do you think deserve the same treatment? These are the performances I have seen : The Who - Tommy The Who - Quadrophenia Brian Wilson - Pet Sounds Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA Rufus Wainwright - All Days are Nights. And as we are in the 50th anniversary year, my recommendation for a full album show is Beggars Banquet.
Hmmm, off the top of my head... Brian Wilson - Smile Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking Jane's Addiction - Ritual De Lo Habitual Weezer - Blue Album Weezer - Pinkerton U2 - The Joshua Tree Peter Gabriel - So Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life Roger Waters - The Wall Helmet - Betty Coming up - Garbage - Version 2.0 Trashcan Sinatras - Cake Trashcan Sinatras - I've Seen Everything
Not sure if it counts, but Phish has a Halloween tradition of putting on a musical costume by covering an entire album by another band. I saw the Halloween 2010 performance of little feat’s waiting for Columbus.
The most recent one for me was Steve Vai's Passion and Warfare, his last / most recent tour. It was excellent.
Soundgarden played all of Superunknown in Hyde Park in 2014. I was a bit miffed actually, I only wanted them to play Badmotorfinger stuff...but then, the beers were really hitting home by then, so it's very possible that they did...
The following albums I saw performed live: Yes Close to the Edge & Fragile (same show) Roger Waters The Wall (I assume this doesn't break the OP's rules..?) The Who Quadrophenia Pixies Doolittle Fu Manchu King of the Road Ian Anderson Homo Erraticus There has to be others, what am I forgetting?
U2 - Joshua Tree Rush - Moving Pictures Janes Addiction - Nothings Shocking Spiritualized- Ladies & Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space Roger Waters - The Wall Peter Gabriel - So
Wilco - Star Wars They opened every night of the tour by playing the complete album from start to finish.
Recently (as in the last 3-4 years), got to see Helmet perform Betty in its entirety at the Viper Room.
The Who- Quadrophenia John Fogerty- Cosmo's Factory (he did not perform them in order, but did perform all of the songs)
Rush - Moving Pictures The Who - Quadrophenia Roger Waters - The Wall Bruce Springsteen - The River Porcupine Tree - The Incident The Musical Box - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway Rufus Wainwright - All Days Are Nights Various Artists - Kevin Gilbert's The Shaming Of The True Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Greendale Open Fist Theater Company - Frank Zappa's Joe's Garage And a whole bunch of Marillion albums: Season's End, Brave, Marbles, Holidays In Eden,......
Brian Wilson- Pet Sounds Roger Waters- Dark Side; The Wall (although I left before Side 4 began) John Fogerty- Cosmo's Factory
None sadly, but it was still a great show. I just re-read the OP's first post and I now realise that it's not applicable for that very reason, so I've deleted my comment.
A couple of shows that were almost, but not quite full albums were : Elton John - Peachtree Road Bjork - Vulnicura
