According to Wikipedia, "a signature song is the one song (or, in some cases, one of a few songs) that a popular and well-established recording artist or band is most closely identified with or best known for, even if they have had success with a variety of other songs."

In this recent poll What are David Bowie's 3 signature songs? ยป we narrowed down Dame David Bowie's signature songs to just 3 from a selection of 25.

The undisputed winners of that poll were:
    1. Space Oddity (currently 427 votes)
    2. Heroes (currently 319 votes)
    3. Changes (currently 205 votes)

Bearing in mind there were some oft-mentioned omissions from the previous poll, I hereby present to you a selection of other Bowie classics to help determine what else are the official alternative three signature songs of the dear old Dame. This way, every track on the US conceived Changesonebowie/Changesbowie is now included.

If you had to narrow down Dame David Bowie's signature songs to just a further 3 after Space Oddity, Heroes and Changes, what do you think they would be?

(thanks to @dbone828 for the inspirational lightbulb)

How on Earth did Life on Mars? fail to make the Top 3? It's far better known than Changes.

If I understand this correctly, it's what the public thinks of when they think of Bowie, so I go with Life On Mars, Ziggy Stardust and the song that should have been strangled at birth Dancing In The Streets.
As with the previous poll, people are voting for their favourite songs, which unfortunately is going to screw everything up.
Boys Keep Swinging, JIOD and Station To Station in that case.

Starman moved the entire UK on release. That Top of the Pops appearance means that song is most closely associated with him.

If that were true the song would have been No.1. Instead it had to make do with No.10.

It is true, you had to be 15 and be there. Even my parents were aware of that record, but they didnt buy it, so it didnt hit number 1:)

There were worse hair days to come in the 'Never Let Me Down' period. As Bowie struggled to keep his giant quiff in place whilst f***ing about with that Glass Spider.:D

How on earth can you vote for Boys Keep Swinging? Are you trying to mess up your own poll?

trying to get more than two SH.tv forum members to follow an OP's guidelines is asking a bit much.
FWIW, it's the song that made me a Bowie fan, so i'd like to vote for it too, but the correct answer is Life On Mars?, Fame and Ashes To Ashes.
