THANKS for posting that. I remember the FM station I worked at in '82 playing that song a lot that year and I liked it but had long forgotten the name of it or who it was by.

5 - "Here Comes The Night" - japanese pressing
6 - "Two Of A Kind Soundtrack" or ON-J "Gold"
    7 - "No Way to Treat a Lady/Music Music" 2fer - Raven - Australia

Think's "Once You Understand" appeared on the Ace CD "Dead! The Grim Reaper's Greatest Hits" in mono. I know my Big Tree 45 from the 1970s was stereo, but I assume the mono version is the original single mix from the 1960s. (Same recording, just different mix.)

Donna Summer's "I Love You" in its single version first appeared on cd on the European edition of her Endless Summer comp. It has since appeared in the U.S. on cd on one of her many compilations -- I think "The Journey," but I'm not home to verify this.

I think it has never been issued on CD. I have a good-sounding mp3 of it.

This song can be found on the Old School Funk comp from 1996 on Thump Records. The Deele also has a couple of import titles that it's on.

  22. Great list! I have many, many of those dubbed from 45s.

Just FYI, "One Step Closer To You" is available on Madacy's Rock On 1986 (1996). It's the 5:08 album version, which can't quite be edited down to the 45 version due to the presence (absence?) of a particular guitar part in one section of the song.

    1) 12' version featured in several collection, 7' edit at least in "Disco Doc 70" by Dig-It (italian pressing) and a couple more. Quite unusual, since the USA 7' was a edit of the 12', while italian 7' was the 12' splitted in part1&2.

    2) If this "Fancy" the italo-disco artist? If yes, look into germany (Zyx records) or eastern europe pressing for albums and collections.

    3) The complete KC "classic" discography (5 album) has been released in UK on two cd "The YK years" (ebay link for further infos):

    http://cgi.ebay.it/Kc-and-The-Sunsh...?pt=UK_CDsDVDs_CDs_CDs_GL&hash=item48404f4090

    4) For Salsoul Orhestra look in some Salsoul records compilation, it's present in several of them. Charly UK has released also the full album.

    5) For Silvetti look in some Salsoul records compilation, it's present in several of them. Not sure if Charly UK has released also the full album.

    6) IIRC correctly Unidisc canada has released the full Sylvester discography.

That Chris Christian song was an AC radio programmer favorite back in the day. Heard this one on an automation reel and loved it and still enjoy it. Greg Guidry's Goin' Down is another of these tunes I love not on CD.
