I love it! Very sparse sounding, very English and with incredible drumming.

The whole Keys To Ascension/Keystudio fiasco is one of the biggest crimes in prog history if you ask me. :)

To me, Keystudio IS Keys To Ascension. And what a damn great album!!!

This is a totally stunner track from a totally stunner (double) lp but I wouldn't consider this a long enough song (picky picky). I would select 'All The Seats Were Occupied' as more epic prog.
But if 5+ min songs can be considered, then add 'Aegian Sea' as well

I would also add Vangelis '72 solo effort 'Fais que ton reve soit plus long que la nuit'. One continuous piece over two sides, totally killer spacey prog-rock. The best solo lp he ever did in my opinion.

I like some of the Keys sessions stuff, but am lukewarm on some of it. BUT...yes, I absolutely agree that the way it was released/handled was kind of a disaster!

I played this album about a month ago and was wondering if anyone else had ever heard of it! Great album, thanks for listing it.

Prompted by another thread on the new 22 CD box set, how about something from Steve Hillage - Lunar Musick Suite or Searching for the Spark, both of reasonably 'epic' length? Or is Hillage not considered prog?

A little known entry into the debate - OGRE "Plague of the Planet" (2008). 1 song, 11 parts, 37 minutes. Extended story-line featuring an apocalyptic America, oil wars, giant robots, and evil dog-men. Musically, think heavy prog (Rush, Crimson) by way of Sabbath:

I would also mention "Aftaglid", in addition to the Gong classic "Isle of Everywhere".
