'20 Solid Gold Hits - Vol 27' on the Music For Leisure label
    'Love Under Section' devalive+sineflesh, D&S001
'Robbin' Hood' Extra Curricular, on the Outta Sight label
    'Benjamin' Veruca Salt, Outpost Recordings
'This Week's Been Hell' Knuckle (numbered 12" single - 41/200. No obvious label details, but purchased from Vinyl Tap in Huddersfield town centre)

I adore record shops and have more fun looking through vinyl in little back-street places than I've ever had in sterile lifeless High Street cd stores. Here's my 5 most recent additions. I picked the 'Solid Gold' LP on a whim in Huddersfield market. Bloke wanted 50p for it but I only had 27p in change. He took that. It appears to be an American release. I only know about 20% of the things on here. Not a lot of these made our charts. I wanted it for just one track, the Motels song 'Total Control'. I'd never heard of it before, but I loved their 'Closets & Bullets' single back in '79.

The rest are new(ish) releases, except for the Veruca Salt 7". Clearly a phone call to the Trading Standards Authority is required. It specifically says white vinyl on the cover. Mine's definitely grey....

Fans of early 80s-style rock should give Knuckle a listen. More than a hint of the NWOBHM on this 6-track single.

Nabbed this past week while on vacation in San Francisco:

The Beatles -- "With the Beatles" (2014 Mono)
The Beatles -- "Mono Masters" (2014 Mono)
Bobby 'Blue' Bland -- "Get on Down with Bobby Bland" (U.S.)
Kate Bush -- "The Whole Story" (UK)
Maxime le Forestier -- "Enregistrement Public" (French)

1- Beatles "Mono Box set" - the gold standard of reissues in my collection - love it, no complaints.
2- Sloan "Commonwealth" - pressing quality is very good, sound is excellent and it includes the CD - recommended
3- Opeth "Pale Communion" - US pressing, surface noise issues - not recommended - get the CD or fixed Blu-Ray for best sound quality
4- Robert Plant "Ceaseless Roar" - pressing quality is good, not great - includes the CD - pressed in Germany, cost $10 more than the Sloan LP
5- Death from Above 1979 "The Physical World" - very good pressing, includes download - recommended

Jack white - lazaretto cuz it was an awesome album--I had it from iTunes already, but also cuz all the cool things hidden in the vinyl...it might be the best vinyl ever from a technical standpoint.

Waterboys fishermans blues -nm for my album frame on my wall

Pj Harvey -stories from the city ...sea (also for the wall)

Nilsson sings Newman sealed mint cuz it's one of my all time favorite albums

A wizard a true star cuz I found it for cheap and it's one of my all time favorite albums (despite its horrible cover art)

I typically by vinyl to collect so I have them sparingly

Do you plan on playing the hidden racks under the label? I can't imagine putting my stylus through that. The angel is cool though.

Just got back from Saturday record shopping and these LPs were in my record bag:

Cornershop - When I was Born for The 7th Time (2:LP) Wilja 1997)
Been looking for this since ever it seems. "Brimful of Asha" and "Good to Be on The Road home Again" are the standout tracks.

Neil Young - Le Noise (Reprise 2010)
The CD is fantastic and it sounds awesome on vinyl.

Forge Your Own Chains - Heavy Psychedelic Ballads and Dirges 1968-1974 (Now Again/Stones Throw 2009)
Picked up on chance after listening to on the listening post. Compilation of prog and psychedelia ballads. Never heard anything quite like it. Phenomenal album. One of the best finding and purchase of this year.

Rory Gallagher - Tatoo (Polydor 1973)
Recently started to listen to Rory Gallagher on mp3 so I want a couple of album on vinyl. Cool.

Jimi Hendrix - Rainbow Bridge (Reprise 1971)
Did not have this on vinyl. Clean copy from 1971 and at a reasonable price of $7 I had to pick it up.

Opeth - Pale Communion (Roadrunner 2014)
One of my fave bands. This is more a prog album than a metal album. Outstanding.

Robert Plant - Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar (Nonesuch 2014)
It is Robert Plant so it is a mandatory pick up for me. Very good album. Cd was included.
