What are your favorite funk and soul albums from 1975 or earlier?

    and though the greatest hits is mentioned I do not see the albums Skin Tight, Fire and Honey. These are essential from the Ohio Players.

    Yep, this is a very cool album. I don't know how it didn't sell that well, wrong label perhaps, a little too ahead of its time. It's shame, great album though.

    Funk and Soul on and before '75 !! Gawd. .. Start with everything from Motown and Stax/Volt add slab of Atlantic. I've got one whole section of the collection right there. It rolls all through R n B of the time as well.

    Some live ones:
    Tower of Power Live. Isleys Live. Commodores Live. Cold Blood Live.

    Don't then forget Funk Rock.
