    Why are they ridiculous? It's subjective, so I prefer favorite over best. No one forces you to read the thread and no one forces you to reply.

    And with all the self-produced albums and independent labels, it's impossible to know how many albums were released in any given year.

    Had I constructed this list at the time, I probably would have included the Cure, Spiritualized, Catherine Wheel, Kitchens of Distinction, and House of Love. Maybe also Ride, even though their album was a severe disappointment after the masterpiece that was Nowhere.
