England's Newest Hitmakers all the way thru Its Only Rock and Roll for me. The Ronnie years are hit and miss for me except for Some Girls, Tattoo You and Blue and Lonesome which I love.

But even the other albums in the Ronnie years have great moments.

Incredible catalog this band has put together!

"Exile on Main Street" , IMO one of the (rare) perfect double album ever. Not heavy on overplayed single.Great vibe.
"Black & Blue", love it from day one. The funkiest of them all . South Spain's summers memory spent DJing in a disco bar called Victor.
    Cheers

between the buttons - i think they started to blossom as songwriters
let it bleed - even if gimme shelter was the only song on here it would be a classic album
sticky fingers - great bunch of songs and a good album feel
exile on main street - not a bunch of huge hits, but just a solid rock album that has a raw urgency
some girls - a return to form (somewhat) after some good but not outstanding albums. there is a good sense of humour here as well.
tattoo you - probably the last classic (for me) solid songs all through and i thought the splitting of the rock songs and the more mellow songs worked for this album.

    1. For me, in order of preference:
    Sticky Fingers
    Let It Bleed
The Rolling Stones / England's Newest Hitmakers
    Aftermath (U.S.)
    Some Girls
    Beggars Banquet

The above tower over the rest (of their studio albums) for me... and especially over the Stones album that, despite many tries, I really don't "get":

    Exile On Main St.

I'll add "The Lantern" to "Rainbow" and "2000 Light Years" as the only three songs I like for this album.

Rarely do I see "The Lantern" mentioned, though I often see "Citadel" (which does nothing for me) as many's third favorite from Satanic.

i am amazed at the love for 'exile', amazed.

quite possibly the most over-rated album of all time.

never got it, probably never will :(
