It will never ever happen but:

    Almost Grown
    Homefront

On the other hand, the equally fabulous and even more short-lived Action made it to DVD, so who knows?

I wish they'd hurry up and release the last 2 seasons of The Muppet Show and be done with it.
(The last DVD set came out in 2008.)

My guess is that because Universal owned MCA Records (and all their divisions) at the time, when they made those deals, they got them very cheaply. And Vice was such an enormous hit in the 1980s, I think a lot of record labels quickly realized that when you promoted a song like Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" and made it the centerpiece of a show, the cross-promotion was worth huge money. So I think that was a big reason why Universal was able to clear all the music cheaply. (Universal has traditionally been very difficult about music clearances; famously, they even replaced a song for the home video release of Jaws without telling Spielberg!)

I cannot comment, though I'd like to...

  7. On which part? Twin Peaks or X-Files?

I so want Hawaiian Eye on dvd or blu. I doubt it will ever happen, though, apart from the bootleg copies available which I haven't seen but which I assume look mediocre and were sourced from someone's VHS or DVD recordings from cable TV.

Rights clearances / legal disputes on Batman.
    Dragnet
is public domain, and Universal doesn't want to master something that can be immediately reissued by the PD companies.
And there's no audience for Profiles in Courage.

If it were up to me, I'd still digitally restore and remaster them all because they're historically important, and make them available for download in some form.

My gut feeling is that it's Warner Bros. who has the most to lose from a successful reissue of the Fox Batman TV show. Fox owns the show, WB owns the characters, and Greenway Productions has a share in the show as well. WB won't allow the show out if they feel it's going to interfere with modern-day Batman films (or the upcoming Superman/Batman live-action film). I can't fathom why they think a dated, campy, 45-year-old satire show would provide any competition for a 2014 movie, but that's me.

By putting the 60's Batman show out on DVD, it reminds people of that Batman- the goofy, silly, campy Batman.

That might (in WB's eyes) turn people away from wanting to see Batman/Superman.

I'm not saying I agree with that line of thinking, but… I think WB is perfectly happy if people forget that 60's goofy Batman ever existed.

But... you forget that the TV Batman is still available in syndication. It's only home video on which they couldn't come to an agreement. It's not like you can't still see the 1960s Batman show at all. The show is out there.

Have to agree with Batman. I used to watch double-billed episodes with cliffhangers all the time as a kid on The Family Channel. Still a shame it's not available on dvd or blu ray.

But WB allowed the campy Batman movie out on DVD and then on blu-ray (released by Fox).

    The Space Giants
    Hi Honey I'm Home!
The rest of "One Day At A Time" (they only put season one out.)
