There is a commercial being shown now where a couple try to reenact the Dirty Dancing movie. The woman leaps into the air and the guy tries to catch her - and fails. They fall and break the dining room table. I have no idea what the hell they are advertising. A really dumb ad.

I hate the History Channel's promos for Ancient Aliens, especially the new promo for the new season that is starting in a week. It plays some dramatic music and is zoomed in (microscopic view) on something and slowly zooms out and eventually you can tell it is a strand of hair. Then it zooms out even more and it is the guy with the weird hair and Greek sounding name....Giorgio Tsoukalos.

    Stupid promo.

colinu I'm not lazy, I'm energy saving!

Car ads up here (Canada): Nissan and GM.

The Nissan ads have tons of CGI - suspension bridge cables snapping, being chased by weathered trees or snowmen. Nissan owners rescue drivers and passengers from other brands that fall prey to these menaces.

The GM ad that has two mock-up photos - exact same background and male model in front of a car and a GM truck. Viewers are then asked to project traits onto the male model - which vehicle makes him look more manly. Another GM ad has a focus group that is asked to rank brands in order of who has built-in 4G wireless first. Neither of these ads says anything about the relevant features or reliability of these vehicles.

I have noticed the local all-news channel has heavy rotation of ads for personal injury attorneys and gold jewelry buyers. Does this say something about the presumed audience for this channel?

Any ad that says up to X% better.

Same as ads that say anything about a fraction of the cost: 100/1 is a fraction of the cost, as is 1/2.

So is Xfinity better than Uverse? Anyone switched from one to the other? Hoping Google Fiber will reach us soon.

The Yoplait Yogurt commercial with The Kinks "All Day And All Of The Night" makes me smile every single time. More so if I'm not looking at the TV. I just like hearing the song.

My absolute worse. All car insurance commercials save for Allstate, have really awful commercials. State Farm really sucks too.

The Chevy commercials with 'real people' all excited about the features they pack in.

There is one woman who says something like "Well, that's the dream to have wifi in the car."

Really - wifi in the car? You should be *DRIVING* your car, not using wifi and endangering everyone around you.

    but - that's just me....

Hate these stupid commercials almost enough to boycott Sonic. They weren't funny 10 years ago and they're definitely not funny now. Douches.
