So, a noticed an item on ebay at a great price ($2.98) with no bids, and 23 hours to go before auction end.

I set up a snipe-bid set up at PowerSnipe. Sure enough, 20 seconds before auction end, powersnipe made the bid.

However, I didn't receive either a "you won" or "you were outbid" email from ebay, like normally happens. So I checked out the auction, and there were 2 days remaining!

Can sellers increase an auction's duration? I can't think of any other explaination.

As long as there have been no bids, you are completely within your rights to change to a longer auction period.

I have seen sellers do this many times when attracting no bids. I think a lot of sellers fail to realize that many people bid in the final minute (i.e., snipe).

Well, that's a bummer. I guess PowerSnipe doesn't check for increases before bidding at what it thinks is the last minute.

    Oh well.

I won the item for $2.98 anyways. :)
