Continued from here:
Cliff Richard - Bold As Brass - blu-ray
John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers & Friends - 70th Birthday Concert - blu-ray
I liked this one a lot more than I expected.
Kagemusha from Criterion. I was kind of hoping the thread title would be altered with the new thread, given that HD DVD and D-Theater have not been available now for several years.
I like the title. I composed it, of course. As long as the title stays the same, folks know they're on the same long-running thread. There have been a few folks pick up HD-DVD's from time to time. I bought 2 in the past year.
Kurosawa & Nakadai always a great combo (love the Blu-Ray).
The Social Network arrived yesterday from Amazon. Hope to watch it tonight.
Directors: Stephen Sommers
Actors: Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo, Kevin J. O'Connor
Have you had a chance to watch it? Not one of my favourites but I imagine it would look great in hi-def.
It looks very good. It's been out for over a year.
I always watch before posting and it looked very good. This one was for my other half but a nice no-brainer movie.
Directos: James Cameron
Actors: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Stephen Lang
Another nice package from B&N today:
Apocalypse Now - Full Disclosure Edition
America Lost and Found - The BBS Story
A nice chunk of 60s / 70s cinema in one hit.
Those will take up some of your spare time.
Ha ha. Certainly got bang for buck.
I've decided that 2011 will be more of a movie year than a music year for me. I have a lot of catching up to do.
Picked up Takers last night from Target.
Really enjoyed the movie and the blu-ray has great picture and sound.
Picked up Crossroads 2010 and Leonard Cohen - Songs from the Road. Both half off at a going out of business sale at my local FYE. It was the last day and 50% was the lowest discount. Strange that used Blu's were only 30% off and some more expensive then new..
"Dune" Blu-ray along with "Jason and the Argonauts". Both look quite good. Wish that the Judas Booth version was available as a Blu.
I got a copy of Natural Born Killers, The Die-rector's Cut from the big Amazon sale. The odd thing about this BD is that, on the back, it has a pink Best Buy sticker. There's no price on the sticker but it has two different sets of numbers.
Logan's Run-$10 from Wal-Mart.
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" What a great movie..
Lang Lang Live in Vienna
Santa Sangre and Criterion's Broadcast News are en route from Amazon. Can't wait.
