The 1992 Doug Sax is still it for me. Goes for all the albums, really.

The recent individual Pink Floyd Records releases are the same soundwise I believe. The packaging and disc lay-out are nicer. And DSOT and Dance Songs are part of this series too (not in Discovery). Agreed, a Discovery box set may be cheaper, but still.

You'll never guess which CD player I have? :D That's right the Oppo BDP-83 Nuforce Edition.

    Thanks!!

Oppo's will via analog out only if the tag is located in the table of contents. They will not add the proper EQ if the tag is in the SUB Q channel. I'm not sure where the tag is located on that Japan. Old U.S. it's TOC.

I have the CBS Sony 50DP ripped to my Aurender N100H as Flac files. It sounds fantastic.

In regards to the MFSL it appears you either love it or hate it. Well maybe somewhere in between as well. I have the MFSL and have to say I prefer the CBS Sony 50DP and the Columbia, C2K-36183, Canada, Black Label over the MFSL.

It looks like there is more than one MFSL. There is the long box and the Brick wall slip case. See link below.

Four years later, and the US C2K 36183 is still my go-to version. The most natural sounding by far. No need to spend loads of money on other versions when you can get a nice, dynamic sounding CD of this album for 5 bucks or less!

Again, the tiny little clicks on Comfortably Numb still don't bother me a bit.

    Crank it up, and enjoy!

I have the Columbia Canada Cinema and Harvest Japan for Europe black CDs in my iTunes. Neither are bad, but I prefer the mellower sound of the Harvest CD.

I paid a premium for the Canadian discs but bin prices for the Harvest. I have no remorse over the purchases.

If you have access to a surround system, both discs are fun in Dolby Pro-Logic Game or DTS Neo simulated surround modes.

The Brick Box came with the long box. Some retailers removed the long box to save display space.

I haven't chased down every version but the Doug Sax was my choice of the ones I've tried. I'm holding out for a shootout thread here before trying anything else at this point.

The “Black face” destination needs updating to masked or black over silver stock.

    Just thinking.

Can we list all of the original masterings that do NOT contain the click before Comfortably Numb?
I like my C2K very much, but I've been bothered by that click from the first time I played the vinyl when it was new.

I totally agree. I've had mine for over 20 years, and I still crank it.

My 50DP 361-2 doesn't have the click. My old Canada C2K did have it.
