Favorite bootleg cd is Sinatra's "From the Vault"

Favorite bootleg vinyl is a tie between Elvis "Dead on Stage " ( gatefold 2 disc lp with absolutely no music and a Vegas Elvis lying dead on stage or Elvis's Greatest ****. Runner up is Jimi Hendricks battles Little Richard.

    What is your favorite bootleg?

Up until a few months ago it was "The Genuine Basement Tapes"

Now its "Blood on the (Out)Tracks" or "Blood on the Tapes." Forget which version I currently have of the Blood on the Tracks NY versions... and if there is a difference between the two titles.

P.S. OP, I'm not familiar with the Little Richard/Jimi Hendrix boot you have, but I've read that most (if not all) Little Richard/Jimi Hendrix boots actually don't contain Jimi Hendrix.

Elvis "The Final Curtain" CD/DVD/Book set.
    Recorded at Pittsburgh 12/31/1976.

Bowie "Nassau '76" CD, off-air radio broadcast, edited concert, but craps all over the appalling official release.

Bob Dylan's Folksinger's Choice, though now it's gotten a somewhat formal release on vinyl and CD. It's a live performance on Cynthia Gooding's radio show just before his first album was released. The banter in between songs is priceless.

Fan of later Bob. Top three would be:

    Master Of Zurich 99

    In The Garden 2001

    Munster 2000

Bob was at the top of his later reign @2000-2002. Cracking corny jokes about the band like "The is Tony Garnier, plays bass. Got a red bike for his wife..pretty goooood traaade"

Most of my favorite bootlegs are things that I downloaded and then copied to a cd-r but I don't think you're asking about that.

Vinyl - no contest - Ten of Swords (see avatar). Still burned into my memory the day I bought this and the many weeks I spent listening to it.

CD - The Beach Boys Unsurpassed Masters series, although it's a tough listen straight through. Also loved Get The Boot, volumes 1 and 2, from the same artist - many hard to find rarities there, from what I can remember. I believe some of them may have been cropped up on the Made in California box set.

    Runners up on CD:
Springsteen Lost Masters series/also Darkness outtakes.
    Neil Young - Chrome Dreams.
Steely Dan - Katy Lied outtakes/Gaucho outtakes.
Dylan - Thin Wild Mercury Music/Freewheelin' outtakes.
    Brian Wilson - Sweet Insanity.

I'm listening to a sweet Pink Floyd soundboard from 1988 as I type this. Never heard it before now! (Uniondale 8/20/1988)

Any of the Mingus 1964 European Tour ones.

    For rock
Stones Leeds 1971, Live'r Than You'll Ever Be (Oakland 1969)--both way better than Ya Ya's or any other official release
Springsteen Roxy 1978--was supposed to be a legit release around 1979, Bottom Line 1975
Sabbath Beyond the Wall of Sleep
Dead at Cornell 1977 (I was there)
Zappa/Mothers Rockpile Toronto 1969--(the show with all the old 50's r&b covers)
Who Fillmore East 4/5/68, Who's For Tennis
Pink Floyd - Amsterdam 1969 (Massed Gadgets), Interstellar Fillmore 1970, Omay Yad (Zabriskie outtakes)

My very favorite unreleased live recording is the stereo master of The Who's 1970 performance at Tanglewood that is available for streaming at Wolfgang's Vault, but it has never been issued as a bootleg cd or bootleg vinyl - only on home burned cdrs traded among fans.

My favorite issued bootleg is probably the "Tales From The Who - Original Master Disc" cd on the SuperSonic label (fm broadcast featuring The Who live from the Philly Spectrum 12/4/73). It's a little step up in sound quality from the vinyl bootleg and previous cd versions.
