Okay, Tyler. You've got an excellent point. I'd like to withdraw my previous claim that "Space Oddity" is my favorite. I have no idea why I didn't think of "Ashes to Ashes". That is hands down my favorite Bowie lullaby.

"Helden" - The German version of "Heroes". The German version has much more impact.

Young Americans, all you young dudes.

can't think of another single that has stretched a voice so far without sounding like (snort) Bohemian Rhapsody.

kinda makes me wanna break down and cry ...

I love that...it's so passionate. The French version, OTOH...the less said the better.

I'd pick "Station to Station", preferably the 1990 live version.

Excellent (and obscure) pick! I was so excited when he revived it for the 1995 tour. Bowie didn't do well with the NIN crowd that year - I firmly believe the reception they gave him led Bowie to re-embrace the hits on stage, since he did virtually NONE that year - and it was great to hear him play some real obscurities like "TW". Given all the hits trotted out during the current tour, doesn't look like he'll go out on THAT particular limb any time soon... :(

  17. My top 10 - impossible to limit this to just one:

    1. Ziggy Stardust/
    2. Suffragette City (one of the greatest one-two punches in Rock n' Roll)
    3. Space Oddity
    4. Rebel Rebel
    5. Diamond Dogs ("This ain't Rock n' Roll -- this is Genocide...")
    5. Watch That Man
    6. Moonage Daydream
    7. Jean Genie
    8. Changes
    9. Cat People (Soundtrack Version)
    10. Heroes (especially poignant after 9/11)

I believe the man is a musical and lyrical genius.
