"Don't come around here no more", by Tom Petty.
Rush - Different Strings
"61 Seconds" - The Outfield
Talk Talk "It's You"
For me something contemporary, Kesha's track Praying (single version), great vocals, instrumentation and lyrics. (The video unfortunately has a load of redundant dialogue at the beginning)
It's always the one I'm playing. Like this one, in my patio right now:
Richard Thompson, "No Peace, No End"
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Anything That's Rock N'Roll Is Fine
'Swingin' With My Eyes Closed'
At the very moment it's Stevie Wonder - the Secret Life of Plants.
Hüsker Dü - Standing In The Rain
Nico, "Frozen Warnings"
The Blow Monkeys - "Fortune's Wheel"
The Cowsills - The Rain, The Park, and Other Things
That is a good song, nice harmonies etc., but the lyrics are a little cringe-y in a way; particularly as late as 1970, "The Good Mr. Square" is a little on the nose or something...all that stuff about being "hung up" etc...I have to kind of get over that stuff, in a way...maybe I'm a little too "hung up." Great album, though.
Ian Hunter, "Apathy 83"
Well, if we're just talking about right now, tonight, it would have to be this one:
It always takes me back to 1972, 9th grade and the best year of my life. Great music that year!
Note: this post was edited to remove too much sentimentality
Got into a big Zombies kick in August, subsided in September and now it's back in October. I had "Indication" and "Is This The Dream" stuck in my head the last two days, but I think I'm liking "Indication" a little bit more. I'm going for a Parrot Promotion Copy collection of their Parrot singles and ironically, these two (and "I Want You Back Again") are the only ones I need left.
