Also, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance - also UK Region Free, after reading rave reviews for the PQ and SQ.

I want to share this, but I don't know where else to post it. Watching Out Of Sight, feeding my Elmore Leonard needs, and when Michael Keaton's character walks into the scene, I snapped my fingers, stopped the film, and went to IMDB.

The character of Ray Nicolette appears first in Jackie Brown, then uncredited in Out Of Sight.
Their respective Leonard novel sources being Rum Punch in 1992, and Out Of Sight in 1996.

    I thought that was interesting.

I was in the States Sunday and Monday for business and I went to Barnes and Noble to take advantage of their sale and got the following Criterions:
    America Lost and Found
    Paris, Texas
    Pickpocket

After all was said and done, 30% off sale, Barnes and Noble card and an online coupon, I saved about 45%.

Last year when this came out, my sister & I talked about getting this when it went on sale.
This past Sunday I sent her the link to amazon to get this for $130. & told her I will have to
wait till it goes on sale again (getting the Batman TV show box). I called her Monday
afternoon to see if she got the email so she can order it. She told me "I'm not getting it right
now but I ordered it for you. Just pay me back when you can." & I was shocked! I plan to
start watching it this Sunday. I'm so happy!!!

Picked up Terry Gilliam's 'The Zero Theorem' today (caught me by surprise, as I didn't think it had been released yet).

Looking forward to watching it over the weekend..

  18. Brides of Dracula Blu-ray region free from the UK. I'm tired of waiting for Universal to get their **** together and release some of this stuff.

All That Jazz at Costco. $19

Smowpiercer. Yeah I know some of you hated it. I thought it was a good fantasy flick along the lines of Terry Gilliam's Brazil. Uneven but very good.

Next week the blu of The Doctor and The Devils from Shout and under appreciated period film from the late Freddie Francis and Mel Brooks based on Dylan Thomas' screenplay. Got it as a preorder from amazon for $9.99.

Yep, Soderbergh mentions in the commentary track that he got in touch with Tarantino and asked if he minded if he used the Nicolette character and Tarantino loved the idea. Just love how cocky Keaton plays the part. I love that film!

It's an amazing example of how a very well authored DVD can be brought to a near-orgasmic upconvert by an Oppo.
Only a " golden eyes " would not be fooled into thinking it's a Blu ray. It's the DTS version by the way.

Soderbergh was always involved in the DVD transfer and authoring process and cared about how his films looked. One look at The Limey DVD (Artisan) and you know it's true.
