I've gone through the whole set. Subtle synch issues on Episode 9 and on some scenes of Fire Walk With Me, but not on the deleted scenes. Maybe the set I bought was from the defective pressing, I don't know.

  10. I think they all had the same issue. Supposedly CBS was claiming that firmware updates would fix the issue for all players--some have, some haven't.

If I change the audio to 2.0, the synch problem disappears, so the problem is related to the dts track.

Still no Tati boxes at any of the local stores, so I had to make do with just 'La Dolce Vita.'

Really hoping there'll be an announcement for 'Satyricon' later today.

  13. Makes sense. No word on replacements yet.

The Doctor And The Devils(1985) - I have neither seen this before, nor even heard of it. Looks to be loosely based on the Scottish Resurrection men incidents. Saving it for the weekend.

I've seen all 5, either streamed, or broadcast, but thanks.

  19. This arrived today from VCI.
I'll be throwing it on in about a half hour.

Looking forward to checking it out!

Heaven's Gate. My first Criterion Collection Blu-ray. Nicely done, I don't think I've ever seen the full version before. Picture has a little grain, but mostly sharp, great detail.
Audio is very good. Loved that band in the skating rink scene and the waltz.

Mine (severe sync problems at the beginning of episode 9, slight sync problems throughout the new footage) are identical regardless of which audio option is chosen. That's on the Oppo BPD 83 (with newest firmware.)

  24. It's a good movie and overlooked. I felt that the pacing was a bit slack but, over all, a solid film from Freddie Francis and the Mel Brooks interview is fascinating.
