Haven't watched it yet though...I've still got like 40 movies to get through after my Criterion shopping spree earlier this year

So many delights on this 13 disc BD box. The original tv version of Scum, original of Elephant, which Gus Van Zandt took as the basis for his equally excellent film of the same name, The Firm (not the Tom Cruise flick, but a Gary Oldman led analysis of football violence), Baal featuring David Bowie, and the stunning Road. Fantastic anthology.

At this point I can tell you that the cover is ultra attractive. I'll get it out and watch it one night this week. When I do, I'm gonna watch the 188 minute Extended Cut. I'll tell ya when I know. I suspect there will be some scenes that will look a bit below par but they'll be worth seeing, I hope. Some of these scenes were only used for a TV version that was whipped up long ago, I think....

Certainly a desert island consideration for me. The standard blu-ray is supposedly trumped in a big way by the UHD. My projection display is scheduled for a UHD calibration this week, so with any luck I'll be screening a bunch of UHD for the first time.
