What oddball band or album do you find easy to turn people on to?

Don't we all love to share rare and obscure gems with friends in the hope that they will love them too? What oddball recommendations do you find your friends usually end up digging as much as you?

Joy of Cooking. People hear them and wonder how come they missed out on knowing who they were. I may do a post on this group someday, since there doesn't seem to be much info on here about them. If you haven't heard them, dig this -- it's from '73.

 

Robert Wyatt's Rock Bottom. People are hooked before the first track, "Sea Song", has finished.

 

CAN; it brings so much joy to my heart to turn people onto these guys, just criminally under known.

Killing Joke and The Cramps. Just about everyone I've managed to get hooked on them goes for a different era.
