I like to listen to a lot of instrumental music when I work, often jazz or ambient stuff. I happened to stumble on the Church of Anthrax album that John Cale did with Terry Riley back in early the 70s and it's really been hitting the spot for me. It's sort of abstract yet still accessible and propulsive, perfect background music for work. I've always liked Cale's 70s solo output, but somehow this one fell under my radar. I've also been getting into Ashra albums like Blackouts in particular.

I just listened to Jethro Tull yesterday. This Was through Crest of a Knave, skipping Aqualung since it was the only album of theirs I own and had already heard.

  12. Ike Quebec - Blue And Sentimental, recorded in 1961. I've been on a Grant Green kick lately, and he's on this album. Beautiful tones from Ike's sax, and Grant's guitar. A perfect late-night album.

The Spinners self titled. Of course I'd heard the bigger hits off it but not the lesser ones or the album tracks.

I love listening to the Spinners..the quality of the recordings is amazing... no synth, all real strings and such (at least on the early albums)... "Livin' Just a Little, Lovin Just a Little" is a gem I had never heard (at least on the radio) but was spellbound by the detail of the remaster...well worth the listen if your able... ;)
