Me, I just love myself too much to waste any time. It's out that door as quick as I can. No record is worth the risk.

Yep, this is what I did when they evacuated us in October for a fire. As it turns out I never left, but had the car loaded and ready to go. I loaded my audio server computer and a laptop as well, but the truth be told, most of my music is already in each car on 4tb portable drives along with the complete systems needed to play it.

It was a weird feeling getting ready to evacuate, but I also felt very comfortable knowing that my music would be fine no matter what. There is not much that is more important to me. Besides my music, all my important documents and financial info was with me as well as it's also on hard drives, though it takes up much less space than the music.

In reality I'd probably wind up driving off with a car full of random crap.

    NIGHTMARE scenario ..

As many stacks of Beatles LP's as possible, especially the really rare ones. Acetates, test pressings, the really special things. The autographs, awards, personal items, butchers, and binders of ephemera and letters of provenance. Then.. all the Solo Fabs. Binders of PS's.

Next is Bob Dylan- aiming for all orig Mono/Stereo LP's. Again special attention to acetates, test copies, promos. Binders of PS's, and provenance papers. Personal items such as Dylan's acetates, autographs, and holy grail unpublished 1961/62 song lyrics. Grabbing as much of the signed art work, etc.

King Crimson - same type stuff as mentioned above.

I would also be pulling the signed, framed 8 x 10's off the wall like a maniac.

Be lucky if I just got The Beatles covered realistically.

    Heck with all the CD's.

Opps... I'm sorry, I had actually responded to this thread a year and a half ago. Didn't notice my little avatar, just started typing. Funny to see how similar and how more thorough I am now at this point...

Funny thing is I was thinking about posting a thread like this a few days ago (scenario not being a fire) but rather a Tornado.

I'd be happy just to ensure the safety of my cat, pops and the old lady... Material possessions can be replaced (might be expensive and take awhile).

  11. The original Verve/Folkways 1966 mono pressing of Laura Nyro's More Than A New Discovery, since that would be the hardest to replace.

Makes me think I should fill a fire crate...probably not a silly idea. Can't see myself searching alphabetically at the time lol....maybe two crates

Oh man I don’t even know what I would prioritize. Probably the most expensive stuff but that doesn’t line up too well with my “favorites” to be honest. I’d start with the audiophile records like MFSL and “vintage collectibles” I suppose. And some titles from the 90s that are basically unaffordable to replace.

Guitars, amps, wife, and maybe a couple of the older whiskies - everything else can be replaced
