If you're channel surfing, what show will you stop, drop the remote, and watch every time you come across it?

For me, it's I Love Lucy because I'm almost guaranteed to laugh out loud more than once no matter what episode it is.

Lately - it's How the Universe Works on the Science channel.

I mean, c'mon - when Super massive Black Holes are the 'star', how can you possibly not be pulled in?:laugh:

(multiple bad puns intended, but seriously - I do watch this show constantly).

And yet you decided to stop on by this thread, because....? I mean, I would skip over any TV threads if I wasn't watching any of it.

I love the science-y shows. Anything about outer space. And I love the History channel. The pyramids.

But my real guilty pleasure is the stuff I don't even believe in. Ghosts. UFO's. Even Bigfoot. I could watch that stuff for hours.

    Hey, don't judge me.

  14. Gave up on series TV years ago. I will drop the remote for any good documentary, nature program or political discussions. One show I watch every day is "Power & Politics" on CBC.

Because people who don't watch TV like to feel superior to those of us who do.

Ridiculous generalization. After 55 years of turning it on, one day I chose not to.
I still watch many current, and past shows via DVD, Blu ray, and streaming services.
Watching Bates Motel via Netflix right now in fact.
It's 2016, and we've had many choices for a while now, being glued to the set is no longer the only choice.

That hurricane of puns was glorious. I would tip my hat to you, but I don't have one at the moment. I'll just make this little smiley face guy tip his hat instead. :tiphat:

I thought he meant he did'nt watch entertainment on a screen when he said "I don't watch TV". Viewing TV shows/movies via DVD's or streaming services is still watching TV even though you are not channel surfing. And from what I've heard streaming probably makes it more likely to be glued to your screen with so called "binge watching" a series on Netflix or wherever. If you had "Bates motel" by broadcast you'd have to wait till next week, instead of being able to do a whole season in a day or two if you want.
The person who does not own a set or a screen of some sort is pretty rare in today's world- to me that would be someone who does not watch TV.

That voiceover, those crime scenes, the police interviews, and you're always expecting some twist at the end. You just can't make this stuff up!
