Its totally awesome!! I have a G-9000 and other Sansui models as well. I really like the darker faux-rosewood color on the overseas version. I am so glad it arrived safely this past weekend, shipping cost was expensive and was worried UPS would somehow damage it, but its all good.

I have a little G-3000. Lovely pieces of equipment.

Even the little one I have provides more than enough power for my listening area

Unless someone is offering for free/cheap a Western Electric 59A or 86 amp, I have the new/vintage amp and preamp that I like (new build with vintage parts). If you consider vintage as anything no longer built, another "vintage" piece I would love to have is a Lyra Connoisseur phono stage.

Ya it is from the 70's, did a lot of recording on it from my vinyl collection. Was a nice machine, I even had the manual which had all the schematics and how to break every thing down showing all the hardware also. Very heavy though to move around.

I owned a pair of Mark Levinson 20.6 mono's. 100 watts each and 100 pounds each, ran hotter than any tube amp I've owned. Sure wish I still had them.

Weren't those amps actually designed by John Curl even though they carried the Levinson badge?

Yup, Curl worked for Levinson back then. Not sure how much of these he designed though, there were many top designers working for them.

Before you put one of these babies into your system, you need to send it to a tech who does work on these

They were well known for their catching on fire and thus garnered the nickname, Flame Linear.

Also there is virtually no output protection. If something fails in the amp, then you have 70-Volts DC right into your speaker's.

A friend of mine had a few of these and offered to sell me a couple, I politely declined.

Honestly, there are many much better engineered modern amps on the market today.

The Phase Linear 700 is rated at 350-Watts RMS per-channel and weighs 45-lbs.

The Emotiva XPA-2 (Generation I) that I bought on sale back in 2012 is a far better sounding and better built amp.

I bought it on sale for $690, no sales tax and free shipping. It is rated at 250-WPC and weighs 72-lbs.
