I remember him seeming bad tempered or at least unhappy too.

I was lucky to see them in a very small venue [Southsea Pier] and they were fab. One of the support acts was a young female contortionist!

Bish Bosch made me laugh out loud at least twice.
I forgot that Scott was famous for his sense of humor
after listening to Tilt too many times over the years.

The last album I got really excited over and loved every track on was Neon Bible by Arcade Fire. I liked that album so much I was buying copies for my friends to have because I felt more people should listen to it. Nothing's grabbed me like that since and that was 2007. Hopefully something new will come along soon and make me feel like that again.

I looked at the thread title, found my «top 20 albums» list that I made for another thread here, checked the release dates and found Kid A to be the newest one there. Then I opened this thread and saw your post :D

Just curious, what are some of your other favorites since 2000 to give the Kid A pick some more context?

Well I listened to it all now. I'm not sure I'd take back deranged but is that necessarily a bad thing in music? It was certainly an interesting listen. It was like a soundtrack to a very strange adult cartoon.

Perhaps Chance the Rapper's Coloring Book, but let me spend some more time with St. Vincent's MASSEDUCTION...

But hey, the year's still young.

Not for everyone but Richard Dawson’s Peasant (2017) was utterly unique and incredibly beautiful.

Can’t argue with Blackstar and I’m wondering if One Day I’m Going To Soar (Dexys, 2012) counts.
