Phase 1 with Doris, or are you referring to another incident?

With Charley Hawtrey it's more like Who not What went down.

Wow....never ever knew that was an actual person. I will never hear Two of Us in the same way again.

I always thought he mentions Hawtrey because he was the first guy in UK entertainment to continually wear those National Health spectacles that John took to wearing in that era. And there is a slight resemblance facially too.

I'd like to know how much he dug the Pygmy, it's safe to be open now.

It's funny to see this because I was thinking of doing a somewhat similar post, but assumed it would -- ahem -- fall on deaf ears.

I was wondering if Lennon's giving the nightclub the name "Slaggers" in "You Know My Name" might have been a reference to German schlager music.

'Slag' is an old slang word in the UK for, um, women of the looser persuasion. So 'Slaggers' would be a good place for a drink, a dance, and to meet the 'slag' of your dreams. I don't think he was inspired by Shlager although he probably heard a lot of drunkards in Hamburg belting it out at four in the morning!

Was Phase One ever put into play? Did Doris get her oats?

About a year ago they were playing a bunch of the ' Carry On..' movies on TV.
My wife had never seen one .She hated them. I love her anyway.

It would have been "Charles Hawtrey and the blind aids ..." then. :)
