I recently switched from freeware Audacity to Adobe Audition, so I could finally record in real 24-bit (Audacity is well-known for having a bug under Windows 7 that prevents 24-bit recording). Adobe Audition gave me a noticeable jump in sound clarity over Audacity. But Audition has lousy recording monitoring capability, and besides that . . . it is dropping samples. No matter how I tweak the settings, it drops samples and I wind up with jumps in my music. I have no idea why this is happening. I beat all the required specifications for the program, and I simply cannot get consistent results. One needledrop, no problems. Next needledrop, jump after jump after jump in the music. So what's more stable than Adobe Audition but also provides as clean a recording result?
