Beck's Midnite Vultures. They have no problem repressing his albums before and after that one...

There is one left I still would like. I have found it but I've not been willing to pay the price.

US pressings of July, Introspection (The End) and Tomorrow. Insanely rare & usually insanely expensive.

One that came to mind is a 70's compilation LP called "A New Hi" that features high school bands from the Dallas area. One of those bands was called A Cast Of Thousands and features a young Stevie Ray Vaughan on guitar.

If it exists, finding is not the hardest part.

    Mike Oldfield - Platinum.

Original Pressing with B-1 or B-2 matrix on side 2. Contains a withdrawn song "Sally"

There must have been tons of these sold in the first couple of weeks before it was pulled and the "Sally" song was replaced with a different song called "Into Wonderland". Unfortunately all the copies still say "Sally" on the sleeve and label (and have done for the following 40 years...)

Also unfortunately, Discogs sellers can't read and consistently put standard copies under the entry for the rare first pressing.

So this is a real example of something where I would happily pay a decent amount for something which can't be *that* rare, but I literally can't find a single copy for sale.

Well, there are PLENTY of the 2014 mono copies left to buy. They are fantastic. I understand the desire to have an original...but the reissues are hard to top for SQ.

Just knowing it exists can be even harder.

In the case of Paul Page, knowing about the albums AND finding them was very difficult for a long time.

For me the holy grail (or one of them) would be Yesterday and Today or Revolver on the red target Capitol label. They were pressed for a short time in 1971 before the early (MMT and before) part of the Beatles catalog began to be pressed with Apple labels.

Re: mono White Album. I had one in 1983-1984, before foolishly selling it. Earlier, I had searched long and hard for it, before I found one.
I did not realize that mono White Albums were not pressed in the US, which is one reason it was hard to find in the US.

If I had a couple grand spare lying around to spend on a record, I'd probably have a saved eBay search to let me know if it came up!

Actually, I'd never heard of this record before. If I've flipped past it over the years it's my own fault. Looks like the currently available CD pays some back to the original Tokens, though, so good for them.

Five and Dime by David Ackles. Some benevolent angel put the whole album on YouTube, so I finally got to hear it, but I've never seen a copy.

I have a NM Ruth Wallis LP (black/silver label) (I like comedy LPs) and the cover and vinyl quality are quite good. Another benefit of small runs.
