I'm very pleased to say that after a few years of effort I have every version of every album that is significant to me. Since the completion it has been just the addition of new music for me whether that be from the past I discover or new releases. That is of course except as titles from Audio Fidelity and MoFi drip out that I'm interested in.
I would love to stumble across a "green arrow" Moving Pictures CD by Rush. I also wish Warner Bros. would put A Drop in the Gray's Certain Sculptures out on CD. Oh yeah, there are several Eloy albums I wish I had on vinyl, but they aren't impossible to find, if I am willing to pay...
Jimi Hendrix Variations On A Theme Red House I think this came with a guitar instructional book. I made a cd-r from various sources and printed up a cover for it, but I still want the original. It consists of six live versions of Red House by Jimi and a studio version by John Lee Hooker. I made the cd-r and played it once. If I ever find the original, I will probably play it once! Nah, I'll play my cd-r again tomorrow, for the heck of it. Seven versions of the same song, back to back to back.....that is a bit much.
What once were vices... .... now are in my collection For the most part.... ...except for that clear vinyl 1970 promo of Blows Against the Empire...
I'm OK, still picking up stuff but nothing desperate, I wouldn't mind a copy of Kay Adams Tears and Alcohol. My wants are more about what hasn't been released yet, there's a few such as Del Shannon WB country album, Johnny Paycheck prison album, Kay Adams Bear Family box and some others.
Thanks so much for the kind words. It all came about due to the SH Forum - I had an opportunity to buy a copy, and given the price tag, figured I'd research it in the Music Corner. It had a mysterious background, so I decided to go to the source. And Mike Fremer was kind enough to publish the interview - he's a great guy!
That is neat. Great interview, and smart thinking recording and transcribing it. Very nice of AP to publish it!
I don't have an original UK Fontana vinyl copy of this.. A very interesting album indeed. It goes for far more than I care to pay for it. I do have the original USA version, which should be rarer, the 1976 withdrawn Contour reissue, 2 CD's of it, a European bootleg replica and an authorised reissue on the Morgan Bear Town label. Not like I've never heard it.
I also am missing this Nick Lowe box set. I have all of the music from it, but would love to read the booklet!
THIS. THE TOMBOYS Step By Step (w/ Raul Malo of The Mavericks) NM 45 w Picture Sleeve - 45 And Single
I've salivated over the following for many a year, though I've resigned myself to never owning them. I have a limit to how much I'll pay for a piece of plastic. Leaf Hound - Growers of Mushroom Jerusalem - s/t Samuel Prody - self titled Host - Pa Sterke Vinger Cressida - self titled and Asylum Pentagram - self titled (Dutch East India version) Comus - s/t And many more...
The Two Tones 1962 Live At The Village Corner album. Gordon Lightfoot's first LP. I was offered it back in the early nineties from Maison Lord for £450.00. At the time it was more than a month's wages so I had to decline. Regret it to this day.
That's simple: A Robert Johnson 78... in any condition, doesn't matter as long as the label is readable. I'd just frame & hang it. Still looking at all 78s every chance I get. Nada.
