If there's a McCartney album that is simply begging for a remix, Venus And Mars be the one!

Absolutely right. There’s a classic album buried in there for sure. A real shame they’ve never done it.

Shirley, that's McCartney II (much as I've liked the album myself ever since getting it in the early eighties)?

I really need to get off my ass and get cracking on the McCartney II song by song discussion I've been promising for the last little while. It has to be done from home, though, 'cos I don't have access to You Tube at work. Trouble is, these days once the wife and kids are out the door in the morning all I want to do is crash, firing up the computer is the last thing on my mind. But I will get to it sooner or later...

    Shirley you can’t be serious?

I am serious. And stop calling me Shirley.

McCartney 2 is my fave, maybe not the best but it's aged well unlike some of the others.
Electric Arguments, Rushes, Ram, Chaos and Band on The Run are all brilliant records.

I much preferred the McCartney II double album to either of the double RRS variations I've heard.

    Why not both, win-win. :)

Well, if we ever get a Deluxe Red Rose Speedway set with all the double album material on it, we shall see!

No that’s Wild Life, McCartney I & II, Back To The Egg, and Red Rose Speedway. Also Rushes and Electric Arguments.

Band on the Run, also is my fav.
And if they would just tack 'Live and Let Die' on to its release, it would be just about perfect.

With the exception of Band on the Run and possibly Ram, I really can't recommend a full McCartney album. I think of most McCartney albums and singles as being collections of great tracks. Which explains why I play his hits collections far more than albums with the sole exception of Band on the Run.

It's still Wings Over America for me! Nothing beats McCartney live in his absolute prime and rocking!

I don't even think that was a choice for voting. Actually its my second choice after Band on the Run. Perhaps in part because I actually saw that tour as a wee lad.

Just voted for RAM seeing this post.

Amusingly, both RAM and Band on the Run are tied at this point in time at 273 votes a piece for 33 1/3% each... Which means everything else combined is equal to these each of these two...

Band On The Run is his one and only essential album in my book.
