So, we've recently had a similar thread on the most expensive LP's.
Let's have a look at your 45 singles here... post 'em if you can. (no obligation to list price paid)

I think I paid $25-30 apiece for a couple Genesis singles with picture sleeves (Entangled and Counting Out Time)...

No more than $5. All were puchased in the 70s or 80s.

I bought all the Beatles singles as they came out since 1964. Most were .50-.75 if I recall, and I have most. I bought a bunch of Marley and other import reggae singles in the 70's/80's, not very expensive then, but not much else since. I only buy 45's when they're cheap and collectible, rather than for play. The most expensive? Probably a colored vinyl "Touch of Grey," for maybe $5.

This was the last 45 I recall buying. $1.

I spent a boat load of cash on Genesis singles in the 80's. I think the most I ever spent was around $400 for a Swedish Counting Out Time w/pic sleeve. Happy The Man UK and Italian cost me over $300 each. The UK Knife was around $250. Many, many $100 singles.

$50 (minimum bid) for the Alice Cooper mono Reflected/Living MANY years ago. The guy used to have these monstrous two page spreads in Goldmine in the smallest possible font.
A friend assured me that it was a steal. Needless to say, it's gone up a bit since then.

The first one that comes to mind is the Japanese 7" of Sparks' I Want To Hold Your Hand. I think I paid $35.

I bought a copy of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer (Nordoff Robins Charity pressing) which is limited to 100 copies each in a unique sleeve. I think it cost around £60. Others that sold on the same day went for £200 as I recall.

Probably a buck and change back in the 80s. A reissue of Dion and the Belmonts' Tell Me Why if I remember correctly. I moved in '92 and donated all of my 45s, that were still in good condition, to the Juke Box of a local bar. After transferring them to cassettes, of course. I discarded those that were in bad shape.

$20, I think and I've only spent that much a few times. I have a collection of about 8000 45s.

I paid $50 for a top condition 7"er by '60s Vancouver group The Collectors, and $40 for a probably rarer one by Mother Tucker's Yellow Duck and something around that for a very nice Roman Records label single by The Paupers. Peanuts compared to what people will pay for some of the most obscure local '60s garage records.

    Here's one now...
