& great guitar playing from the incredible Jesse Ed Davis on the Taj Mahal album. Jesse Ed was good enough for Duane Alman to copy his licks almost note for note.
I was lucky enough to see Taj and that great band he had back in 1969,at the Black Dome, a small club near the University of Cincinnati.I remember it well and to this day one of the best concerts i ever saw. They were smokin that night. The only thing that could have made it better was if Ry was with them. I'm not sure if he ever toured with them, but just a few tracks on that first record.I know Taj and Ry had the Rising Sons.
Oh yea! Maybe your thoughts and experience should maybe be copied and pasted into this thread... Rising Sons featuring Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder
Bobby Bland {Two Steps From The Blues} What a great album. The arrangement and sound are so cool. Interesting 50s sound. Just perfect to me. Love this record. Album cover is cool too...
