Hey I have the remastered CD & a new vinyl RI.But both have bad distortion on few cuts. Not wanting to invest in anything else until I score a good clean original.Does yours have the same issues?
Maybe "I Hear Some Blues Downstairs" I cant recall if LMAD is on that album or if it was the title of his record.I had them both decades ago but divorce blah blah woof woof.
That and Mr.Wonderful two of the finest examples of white boys blues.IMO Green is premeir white blues guitarist from England.I struggle constantly with Winter&Skydog in U.S.
Nothing wrong with that.Good choice.Damn horse hindered and killed a lot of great talent.Shame.Peace.
Yep.And Johnnys Nothing But the Blues with Muddy(1 cut) &Muddys band backing the Albino Texan a few months later is one his best pure blues efforts.1977 was a good year indeed.Peace.
Great collection from the Fillmore East and West, the track with Johnny Winter is worth the price alone. This performance by Johnny is what got him noticed and signed to Columbia soon afterwards.
Might have been true back in the later part of the 60's but a lot of water & a HUGE number of white boy blues players have come along ( or been & gone) since. No need to be stuck only in the past.
But the artists we are praising were innovators. All the ones that followed circa 1975-present are imitators.Rehashing what has already been done.Huge difference.
Peter Green & Mike Bloomfield (& Eric Clapton) were never ever innovators. They may have been among the first white boys to tackle the blues but they were years behind the original true innovators & are as guilty of rehashing what has already been done as anyone that has followed them. Your argument is faulty.
It's funny Otis Rush was so awesome, almost a peak on those Cobra sessions but Buddy and Magic Sam hit their stride later on i think. Their Cobra stuff isn't as good as later stuff. Guitar Slim {Sufferin' Mind} Such a showman... Still listening to Two Steps From The Blues a lot too...
Sorry about this one. It’s a far too big issue for me to answer right now. Besides I haven’t listened blues a lot lately. But perhaps something POST-WAR CHICAGO Classics of Blues Recordings. Maybe a little harp on it and mean wicked voice of the singer …
