I got the Ape House Skylarking the other day. You know............ I just don't really like that record so much. I have almost all their stuff and LOVE Apple Venus, Nonesuch, English Settlement, Black Sea, but Skylarking just seems like everyone is trying way to hard. Andy is just barking at me all the time, too many overdubs, shiny sounds and just too much all around trying to be clever, to the detriment of the record. Was Todd to blame? Am I wrong? Were they at a crucial time where they need a hit? Record company pressure? I would like to like it, but don't think will will happen.
Yes I am a bit of a bargain hunter, I have always had a good eye finding stuff, and yes a typing error on my part but yes I only bought it as it was promo press pack and I had it as a boy and it was only five pounds, you should come to Uk and buy vinyl away from London here in Essex bargains can be found,FC.
Replacing a damaged copy of Foghat's Stone Blue. The local store had two or three copies to choose from...
Saw this in a record store today, impromptu jam with Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins at a show in Germany, recording edited by Rodney Crowell. I hadn't heard of this before so for £4 thought it was worth a punt.
I just got 50 records for $47.99 on eBay. A’ve been buying from this guy for about a year now and am seldom disappointed. There are always at least 25 records that i’m glad to get, usually more. Condition is VG+ & VG, never less. I quick look saw Leon Russell, Donovan, Hollies, Nantucket, Kansas, Fireside Theatre. Only 3 or 4 classical works (I do like them, just not too many) a few 80s rock bands like Loverboy, and a few 80s r & b / disco LPs. All in al a good haul.

I saw a used NM copy in my local shop. Don’t recall the price offhand as it was on a high-up wall. Was yours new ?
No, mine was used. Bought online and was a little more beat up than I prefer, but it was under $10. It plays well, but the cover is trashed. You win some, you lose some! But, for $10 it was worth the risk.
Totally agreed. How do your ELOs sound ? I have a trashed Originial Out of the Blue. My local shop doesn’t have any decent copies
