In a weird bit of synchronicity, mine was a plum Atlantic UK copy of Aretha's Greatest Hits from 1971 - bought on holiday on Wednesday afternoon in an antiques shop in Lyme Regis on the Dorset coast, before I even knew what was going on with her health this week.

I haven't played it yet (only got home this afternoon), but it's already feeling like the best (& most poignant) 6 quid I spent on music this year at least.

Was in Pittsburgh to see family and friends last week and was pleasantly surprised.

Found some recent RSD stuff I haven't seen in Northern NJ/NYC:
Truth, Liberty & Soul - Jaco Pastorius big band live
    Centennial Collection - Robert Johnson
Bowie first album on Deram mono/stereo
    Let's Dance 12" - Bowie

    Other things:
With The Beatles and Beatles For Sale mono
Chicago II - S. Wilson mix
Last Dance - Charlie Haden & Keith Jarrett
    What's Going On - 40th Anniversary w/Detroit mix vinyl

    Used:
UK - first album and Danger Money
Jeff Beck Live with Jan Hammer Group
    Todd
    WLP - Rundgren (duh)
Living Time - Bill Evans with George Russell Orchestra
The Remaining Titles 1929-34 - Charley Patton
Timeless - John Abercrombie (original 1974 ECM)
Spaces - Larry Coryell w/John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Miroslav Vitous and Billy Cobham
Larry Coryell w/Eleventh House Live in Montreux
    Katy Lied
(Kendun) - no hole in the right corner, and looks practically unplayed. Probably better than the one I have. Now if I could just find the MoFi....
David Werner - third album. David is a talented songwriter I knew when I lived in Pittsburgh. Made only three records and that was it. Didn't like performing live. Had an '80s hit with Billy Idol.

Also some nice Coltrane and Joy Division reissues.

  15. Just received the Legacy Axis Bold as Love (stereo). It's the first title I've purchased of this reissue series and I am extremely impressed. Great sound quality, AAA mastering, superbly pressed at QRP, rice paper poly sleeve, AND an 8 page booklet. For $11 shipped to my door. Incredible.

I will certainly buy more (all?) titles while they are available at these insane prices. If this was branded by MoFi it would sell for $50 all day long.

Really making me wonder if I want to get the UHQR version now. That would have to be some diminishing returns.

edit: Just looked. $9.54 on Amazon now
