I'm not a crazy fan, but he was a great player. Very influential to many people.

Not sure if I can post the video- when the nekkid chick popped up during "Sinner Boy" at the Isle of Wight festival, and Rory kept on playing.

Another chance to wonder how the hell I never heard of him until the 00s. To be fair he was not on the radio and never (as far as I can tell) played anywhere near me. Still.......

One of the few that are much better live than in the studio.

Lucky enough to have seen him live, at Mean Mister Mustard's, in Reading, PA...6/29/85

Notes found from someone else who was there.

"My friend, Bill Smith found out about this show and we got the directions and drove up with another friend,

Brett Nielson. It was a long drive to Reading and by the time we got there, Rory was already rocking. He was in the middle of Mississippi Sheiks as we arrived. He was playing an unusual newer white guitar (not a Fender or Gibson…maybe a B.C.Rich or Dan Armstrong).

I taped this gig with a very old Sony stashed in a shopping bag. Later in the show, the tape ran out and I put the recorder back in the car. This was unfortunate because Rory played a Chuck berry song, ‘Little Queenie' during the encore. The only time I ever heard Rory do a Chuck Berry song."

I must say I prefer his earlier album to the later ones , a bit too much hard rock for me
his first self-titled album is one of my favourite albums of all time

I love the 1st album as well and Laundromat is probably my favorite Rory cut. I also rate Deuce, Calling Card and Tattoo You very high. I like Blueprint very much as well. That said, just about everything he recorded was excellent. Saw him live and it was the most high energy show imaginable. A great, great guitar player
