It's hard to pick favorites. My list of McCoy shows with dates, locations, and band members is below. If I have to pick certain shows:
    1) December 90 at Yoshi's. First time I saw McCoy. Went with my brother. Sitting about 5 feet from McCoy. I had a few cd's, but this was overwhelming. My brother had studied piano for 10 years, did not know who McCoy was, and was blow away.
    2) the shows with Bobby Hutcherson. They played so well together and they both have good compositions.
    3) 12/9/92 - first time seeing Billy Harper
    4) 1/11/96 - first time seeing Michael Brecker. Jeff Kashiwa from Rippingtons sat at our table, he was friendly and there as a fan of Michael Brecker.
    5) 1/18/15 - Tribute show to McCoy at SF Jazz. McCoy has slowed down a bit, but when he sits at the piano, the magic is there. This show was also sadly the last time I saw Geri Allen.

Very nice list I enjoyed going through it (as I listened to “Echoes of a Friend” ) I would to hear him with Billy Harper !
I haven’t heard him in a few years , but have great memories of some amazing concerts in Montreal , with Ravi Coltrane and another with Bobby Hutcherson ....they really should do a tribute series with him

    Grateful dead, probably 35-40 times.

    Richard Thompson, 25-30.

Buddy Miller, at least a dozen.

    Chris Thile, 15.

Captain Beefheart and the magic band, about 12.

    Lyle Lovett, 12.

    Steve Earle, 12-15.

    Patty Griffith, 10.

I'm sure there are many others I've seen 10-20 times but I can think of them at the moment.

Australian soul singer Renee Geyer 14 times between 1991 and last July.
Cyndi Lauper 4 times once in 1989, twice in 2004, once in 2008 and once last year.
Pat Benatar, Alison Moyet and PJ Harvey twice.
The rest have all been once-offs so far but I am hoping that will change as I am now living in a place where concerts are easily accessible again. I recently returned from 15 years in the desert so my choices were limited and expensive to travel to.

Sonny Rollins and Bill Frisell maybe 6-7 times each, sun ra and the Art Ensemble maybe 4-5 times each. A couples of locals dozens of times. All of them had moments of magic, oftimes more than just moments, as did some who I only saw once.
