I voted for The Hives, but could have gone with The Cardigans or The Soundtrack Of Our Lives just as easily. Or Eggstone if they had been on the poll.

Swedish pop bands always have wonderful rhythm guitar players.

I don't know if this poll is really supposed to be serious or not, but..........

    SERIOUSLY: ABBA.

There is only one real choice on that list!

    ABBA - no doubt.

This poll without ABBA (or at least choose 2) would have been far more interesting to see where the rest stack.

You can't even go by the 2nd place votes because we don't know who the ABBA voters would have selected.

But seriously, you could have a poll: which tastes better - "food" or "nails":
And there would still be some people would vote "nails" so they would seem edgy and not mainstream.

Best Swedish bands IMO are Sambassadeur, The Radio Dept., Lykke Li, Peter Bjorn and John, and The Concretes.

Hmmm, Radio Dept. or Acid House Kings depending on my mood.

I voted Roxette, but they are nowhere near my favourites list, haha. I'm glad at least one member besides me mentioned In Flames. They are easily my favourite Swedish band. They have evolved into something horribly awful in recent years, but between 1996 and 2002 they were usually fantastic. This only applies if you can tolerate metal, of course.

ABBA, but I like Ace of Base too.

ABBA has some really great songs and are unjustly maligned in the US, but I went with The Soundtrack Of Our Lives because they're much more my kind of music.

ABBA, then a tie between The Cardigans (who I'm starting to get into) and The Hives (who I've enjoyed since my college days).

    Another vote for Kent.

If you like albums like The Bends by Radiohead or Wish by the Cure then Kent is definitely for you.

    Definitely the Nomads.

I am pleased more people here has mentionned this Swedish garage band who started in the eighties with their fine albums and concerts. People who love guitars should have a listen to their 'Where the Wolf Bane Blooms' (1983). Awsome!
