The Harrison estate paid $440k to get the Rosewood Tele back in their stable.

    Ps.
It started life as a Gold Top. Rick Derringer sent it to Gibson and had it pained red. When he got it back, he said the paint job ruined the sound and then sold it to or traded to a NY music store.

She must have a good relationship with the museum. A few years ago I saw the blond Epiphone Casino there as well as the acoustic Gibson used at the infamous bed in.

If I'd had it, I would have sold it to them for $439,995.

    We won't be undersold!... ;)

Paul's Ricky. As a lefty bassist-I would actually play it!

George's Gibson SG or Paul's Fender Esquire. And throw in George's 1964 Fender Bassman amp too please.

Paul's 63 Hofner is probably one of the most iconic musical instruments of all times (though I suspect his Rickenbacker 4001 might actually appear on more Beatles recordings). I would be happy with either. :agree:

Third choice would be George's SG, since it was not only a Beatles guitar but was also Pete Ham's guitar for many Badfinger recordings.

George’s rosewood Tele from Let It Be, or his Gibson SG from the Paperback Writer video.

I'm assuming this "scenario" gives you a "playable" instrument...and unlike many collectors-I would want to actually play it.

Acoustics all the way for me as it seems they used them for songwriting....Gibson J-160E or, the Martin D-28's they took to India and used throughout the rest of their careers.

None of them. I'd want Paul's Rickenbacker but it's left handed, so no dice

The SG that Pete Ham had was supposedly a special guitar in tone and playability. I believe Colts owner Jim Irsay wound up with it.

  20. +1. Cool, singular sound both acoustically and when plugged in. Especially if I'm playing solo and singing, gotta have an acoustic.

    Rocky for me.

The paint job may not be the greatest work of art (okay, definitely isn't), but it's still an original Harrison hand-painted relic. That makes it double valuable in my view--it was responsible for great music being made, and it is also an original Harrison artwork.

Paul’s bass will crush this, in the end.

I thought John's Casino would take this by a landslide. Guess that's just my preference, it looks so cool with the paint stripped.

Either way, I couldn't take the pressure of actually possessing one of these. But a replica for my own use? I want a J-160E or the rosewood tele.
