For me personally, it's the following in order of preference:

    1. Blood on the Tracks
    2. Nashville Skyline
    3. Oh, Mercy
    4. Bringing it all Back Home
    5. Highway 61 Revisited - for sake of comparison to the DCC gold disc.

I'm sure that most will not agree with my choices. I am looking forward to all of them but these are 5 most anticipated.

    1) INFIDELS
    2) SLOW TRAIN COMING
    3) JOHN WESLEY HARDING
    4) OH MERCY
    5) BLOOD ON THE TRACKS

I'm with Magic Alex - I like those albums with Mark Knopfler A LOT!

Nashville Skyline and Highway 61 Revisited but I will likely pick up everything over time.

Let's hope they do as good a job as they did with Pink Floyd...:)

Knopfler is one of the primary reasons for those choices. Great backup on those albums!

    When information starts to become available regarding;

    1. mono or stereo versions of the early records
    2. bonus/unreleased tracks (?)
    3. new liner notes by Bob himself (a rumor a few years ago)

please post it! Dylan-fantatics are all over the 'net, but I haven't seen much information (or mis-information) about these topics so far...

    Thanks
    John

    Freewheelin'...because it's:

    a. a monumentally great (and underrated) record.

    and,

    b. the best-sounding Dylan recording (IMHO).

Anyway, that's how I see it! (Oh, and can we please have mono and stereo on the same disc? Thanks!)

Pretty much all of them, except Highway 61 Revisited (I'm already satisfied with Steve's tube mastering), Slow Train Coming, and Empire Burlesque. There's some good things about the last two, but they're not my favorite Dylan albums.

Dude, for me there will be no comparison to Steve's work on this one. When I hear how rich and full this sounds to every previously released verision, my heart wants no more. I have no idea how it could be improved one iota. :) :)

Ed Bishop Incredibly, I'm still here

Well, it is darn near great, though hardly underrated; made him a NAME almost overnight(with help from PP&M and critics who adored his *protest* stance and *beliefs*--boy how they felt after he went electric!). Nice piece of work, though, and it's one I'm gonna get as soon as it's out.

And wouldn't it be even greater if we got the 'deleted' tracks, too?

Well, at least it's in true, obvious stereo(as was the debut); the next few were near-to-mono, very spare; with BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME, the stereo returned(except for "Gates Of Eden"). But point well taken: nice sound here, maybe too pretty for Dylan on some tracks, but his vitriol on the toughest more than made up for that!

Oh, M.K., in our wildest dreams:sigh: If Sony wanted to make friends of guys like us for life, that's what they'd do. Since multi-channel seems out of the question, that would make up for it. The mono mixes of all the '60s albums through BOB were specially made mixes, and would be a joy to have on SACD.

    We can dream...

Is "Pat Garret and Billy the Kid" among the SACDs they are releasing? I hope so.

This is the list of SACD releases:

    Free Wheelin'
    Another Side of Bob Dylan
    Bringing It All Back Home
    Highway 61 Revisited
    John Wesley Harding
    Bob Dylan Nashville Skyline
    Street Legal
    Blood On The Tracks
    Desire
    Slow Train Coming
    Infidels
    Oh Mercy
    Time Out Of Mind
    Love and Theft
    Royal Albert Hall

For me, I'll take Desire/Blood on the Tracks (can't separate them for some reason), Bringing It all Back Home (the only vinyl I ever had was terrible), Street Legal (though the CD remaster is good), and John Wesley Harding. Oh, jeez - they're all going to be fantastic.

    Regards,
    Geoff

Not at all. This is my favorite Dylan album, for personal reasons, even though it has not met much critical optimism. FABULOUS band on this one!

    Dylan on SACD...

There is absolutely NO reason to even bother with Sony's version of "Highway 61" when Steve's DCC Gold CD version is perfect in every way! A true "Holy Grail" that I'm lucky enough to actually have in my collection!

as for the rest of the upcoming SACD's...

I will, most likely, only bother to pick up "Nashville Skyline" (with hopes that SOMETHING can be done to make it sound better than anything that has been released before!) While it is a short and awkward album from Dylan, I can't help but love it! If the song "Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You" doesn't perk up your ears then don't bother with anything Dylan!

I also will have to buy "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" which I still find houses some of Bob's best work! "Don't Think Twice" just makes me cry and what about that shuffling beauty "Corrina, Corrina"?

"Blood On The Tracks" may also get me $$$, if I read that it's good, otherwise that's about all I care about on these SACD's!
