Which is a Better Turntable, Technics SP-25 or SL-1200 Mk2?

    I can use this Technics SP-25 as a transcription turntable with its long tonearm using my V15 Type V-MR cartridge.

    As I have mentioned, I decided to keep it because it looks very beautiful and because of its upgrade options.
    It already has a Technics SH-15B2 plint and a 12" tonearm.
    I ordered a Nordost Blue Heaven tonearm cable for it.

    Sorry for this thread revival , but I stumbled on this and was confounded about the recommendations of the SL-1200 over the Sp-25. I wanted to scream thinking you were going to give your brother the 25 and keep the 1200 in 2011.

    Thank God you didn't listen to the majority of the posts!

    I have to thank myself that I used my judgement intelligently!

    Both are good turntables and very close in performance but the SP-25 is the one I prefer after keeping them both for one more year. I kept the SP-25 and I gave my brother the SL-1200 and he's so happy with it.
    We're both happy campers.
