I chose Echoes, though it seems of a different type than the rest, which are 7- to 11-minute songs, and Echoes is a side-long 20+-minute epic. I don't consider Epitaph particularly trippy but it would be my #2.

1983 was a surprisingly easy choice.

I never cared for Riders of the Storm. It doesn't seem particularly trippy to me; just long and kind of dull. The End is much better.

If they were on a shelf, I'd pull out 'Epitaph' more often than the others.

Echoes. I seem to hear Riders on the radio every time it rains.

Riders on the storm. That beautiful fender rhodes playing, the bass line & the storm. Brilliant.

  8. Riders, followed by Echoes.

:righton: Well said, especially for the long album version, i think it's over many people's heads, same could be said of The Doors.

"Riders," as I don't really listen to the others that much at all.

A few months after the song was released, a couple of buddies and I were driving to school one morning during a storm, and the local rock station was playing the song. Lightning struck the station tower and knocked them off the air.

Tough choice. I went with Echoes. The only one that doesn't really do anything for me is the Hendrix track. The others are all great. I am surprised the OP didn't go with ITCOTCK instead of Epitaph.

Chose Echoes as my experience most closely related to psychedelia was with it, but Riders on the Storm in Quad is also quite exciting.

Epitaph first, Echoes second...could care less about the others to be honest.
