Listening to Big Generator on the way to work today, I couldn't help but think of how much I enjoyed this period in Yesstory. So which of these albums is your favorite and why? And please, no digressions into relative merits of each era. Just this one is what we are talking about.

The omission of Union is intentional given the limited number of Rabin tracks on it (never mind the Elias discussion).

90125, with Talk as a close second.

My view too, was not a BigG fan, they teased and tormented us for so long in delaying that album, and then when it came out I didn't think it was near as strong as 90125. Talk sat better with me than with a lot of Yes fans, but was hit or miss in my book

It took me a while to get into it, but I’ve come to really enjoy 90125. It may not sound like classic Yes, but it has an enjoyable style all it’s own. I’ve never really cared for Big Generator and I’ve never heard Talk.

It took me way more than a mere while, but nowadays I truly love 90125, and wholeheartedly agree. I consider it one of those rare one-of-a-kind albums, absolutely perfect in the singular sphere it occupies.

90125. Big Generator has several good tracks but pap like Love Will Find a Generator is hard to forgive and I change the channel on Big Generator or Rhythm of Love. Talk has a few good ones too. But I like 90125 start to finish.

90125 should win this poll in a runaway with good reason, but Big Generator and Talk have their merits. Talk has really grown on me in recent years.

I'd reverse those. 90125 is brilliant from start to finish but Talk I rate slightly higher inasmuch as I reach for it more often.

Don't like Big Generator at all, for whatever reason. Probably my least favourite Yes record.

Yeah 90125 is great. Only track I’m not thrilled about on it is City of Love. Bug Generator is mediocre at best, and Talk is solid.

    90125 by a mile.
Big Generator was too late and tried to be 90126.
Talk is decent, but not essential Yes (while 90125 definitely is, IMO).

90125, for me. Great, great album. I also recommend Rabin's solo album Face to Face. This is a great tune.

    Now.

90125 is the last Yes album that I listen to, that should tell you something.

  16. Rabin never “led” Yes.

90125 is the best album he played on.
    Big Generator is underrated, though.

I think 90125 is going to win big; it's what I voted for but I really do love the other two.

90125 by a landslide for me. I like Big Generator very much and can’t get in to Talk, but 90125 is a stone cold classic - not only of the Yes catalog, but of the entire 80s.

How is 90125 winning by such a landslide? Do people really think it's that good? Endless Dream off of Talk is better than anything on 90125 imo.

90125 was a favorite album back in those days.
Big Generator was a bit hit and miss, but I like a lot of it.
Talk had some good songs on it, but the tone Trevor had at times (like blending in a piezo pickup on his guitar) really made me not want to listen to them.

    90125.

The others have their high-points, but 90125 was pretty groundbreaking-which had a lot to do with Trevor Horn's production.

    I'd rank Talk over BG.

    Hmmm....

"That, That Is", "Mind Drive" and "Dreamtime" don't count as great Yes epics?

I think Endless Dream gets overrated because it fulfills length expectations. I think the best track (and the only one where you can really even tell Squire and Kaye are in the band) is State of Play.
