Which Sgt.Pepper pressings have the infamous run-out groove?

    You guys want to hear an anomaly?

    My South African mono 1st pressing has the same run-out text (but not the same font) as the UK 1st Pressings, is a banded release besides Sgt. Pepper Reprise and A Day in the Life and as far as I can tell does not have the run-out groove on side 2.

    Like most South African Beatles pressings, Sgt Pepper was cut by EMISA from UK supplied tapes. Can easily confuse collectors as EMISA kept the same matrix information and in many cases included a lacquer number. The giveaway is, as you have observed, the different machine stamping.

    I didn't know that, thanks for telling me that.

    Would you happen to know if mono Revolver was the same? I've looked at photos and it seems to be the stamper.

    Yes. And machine stampings on non-UK pressings can sometimes be just subtly different from the UK pressings too. You have to compare carefully.
