I really did like the album, I've listened to it 4 or 5 times after the first listen. Much more of a rock album than I expected, if that makes sense. I assumed "Here I Go Again" would be the big song and maybe a couple other catchy tunes, but really the whole album flows quite well. "Bad Boys" made me think of Van Halen, a nice little rocker. And of course Coverdale is a great singer, very pleased with the album. As far as the sound of the set, again I thought it sounded pretty good. It is an album you crank and play loud, and it seems to be mastered that way, I thought the set was a great example of how a Super Deluxe set should be done, 4 CDs, a DVD, a nice book and some other goodies all for around 30 dollars, that can't be beat. I really would recommend this set to anyone on the fence, you won't regret it.
wow I have never seen that ny seltzer commercial before. That is wild. My friends and I drank that stuff everyday when we were younger and out riding our bikes. I still love it.
Wow, that TV commercial was HILARIOUS! And Coverdale hadn't yet put on his Roger Moore accent, as Jon Lord once described of him in an interview, lol.
Available this Saturday (Record Store Day)... RSD '18 Special Release: Whitesnake - 1987 (30th Anniversary Edition) Picture disc of the band's multi-platinum album using the recent 2017 remastered audio. The picture disc is housed in a die cut sleeve, exposing the famous Whitesnake emblem. Worldwide run of 6500.
Curious who will be pressing the picture discs. Picture discs have come a ways since the 70s, soundwise. I have a bunch of recent ones from Yes, Megadeth, and others. Most I'd say are at least listenable. GZ media seems to do a lot of the ones I see. Rainbo has the capability to press them as well.
Just great songs in general. Still my favorite album of all time. Adding Looking For Love and Your're Gonna Break My Heart Again makes it even better.
The Whitesnake album is such a powerful album. John Sykes rocked this album. John Sykes Sykes performing with Whitesnake in 1984
Like the content but I can't get used to the US tracklist. After listening to the EU one so many times it just feels odd when the songs are 'out of order'! How good are the evolutions tracks though. Great stuff.
The 2017 remaster single CS is $5 CAN on Amazon. I don’t have this album. Is this an okay version to get?
Yeah, likewise. Still far prefer the original UK tracklist, kicking off with "Still of the Night" and including the two extra songs, but I guess that's simply what I've become used to after listening to the album countless times.
