Not Dark Yet Shelby Lynne & Allison Moorer Original Release Date: August 18, 2017 Label: SILVER CROSS RECORDS
Iron Maiden is my favourite band of all time, and if there is one band i've actually been obsessed with its IM (based on the number of songs I have on my Spotify playlists). That and Pet Shop Boys (which should be obvious based on my profile picture). I'm actually still, here and there, obsessed with finding new IM tunes and it's really sweet when that happens.
Gentle Giant. Also made me revisit all the other classic prog in my collection, so there's been a lot of Genesis, ELP, Rush, Manfred Mann's Earth Band and others being spun this month. Getting a bit more into King Crimson, too.
King Crimson, specifically from their debut album through Discipline. Now I need to delve into their post-1981 albums. This ought to be fun
Nice. Last night, I revisited a lot of classic prog, listening to King Crimson, Rush, Yes, and Genesis. All with my wife present It seemed a minor miracle she did not express any dissatisfaction. Maybe she's coming around
I played the first four Gentle Giant albums for my girlfriend. She said she kinda liked them. She already likes Genesis, and Peter Gabriel in particular, and she picked out a Yes record just recently on a trip to the record shop!
If this continues, please remember that there are always some local support groups, and some 12-step programs that can help free yourself from such dire situations
My Internet outrage will probably last another 30 minutes or so, then I'll be past it. Heard an interview from The Melvins on my way back from Philly today, so I may focus on them later.
I have always loved Manfred Mann's Earth Band's cover of "Blinded by the Light" but it never occurred to me to explore their albums until this week. Holy crap this is great stuff...I am in heaven.
