    In TV programs they don't go to the black screen, it's just a subtitle, miss this and confusion sets in.

    The movie originally opened in the morgue (!) with Joe lying under a sheet alongside a bunch of other stiffs "talking" to each other ("did anybody get the score of the Dodgers' game?"); preview audiences cracked up because it seemed so stupid so they redid the opening showing the murder.
